Destiny Versus Fate – All You Need To Know

In this post, we’ll unpack all you need to know about destiny and fate, defining what they are, the differences, how they impact us and more.

Destiny Versus Fate ― Conscious Mind Versus Subconscious Mind

You have a Conscious Mind and a Subconscious Mind.

Your Conscious Mind is your objective analytical mind. It is the part of you that gives rise to your free will. It allows you to direct your focus and energy.

Your Subconscious Mind is your subjective emotional mind. It is the part of you that operates like a program generated by all of your habitual behaviours.

When your behaviour is directed by the will of your Conscious Mind, you create a new future which is what we refer to as Destiny. When your behaviour is directed by the program of your Subconscious Mind, you create the familiar past which is what we refer to as Fate.

Therefore, the more you direct your behaviour using your Conscious Mind, the more you become a Master of your Destiny instead of a Slave to your Fate.

“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” — Carl Jung

The Differences Between Destiny & Fate

Destiny is born out of the present. Fate is born out of the past.

You seek your destiny. You succumb to your fate.

Destiny originates internally. Fate originates externally.

Fate is beyond individual will and control. Destiny is within individual will and control.

Fate pushes you. Destiny pulls you.

We fall backward to our fate. We progress forward to our destiny.

Destiny is the result of consciously creating your own life. Fate is the result of failing in consciously creating your own Destiny.
